How to Add Music to Instagram Notes

Instagram introduced two exciting features for Instagram Notes. These small text bubbles, located beside your friends’ names on the DM page, were originally meant for brief text and emojis. But now, Instagram has expanded Notes to include music and translation capabilities. This upgrade allows you to embed up to 30 seconds of music into your Instagram Notes, providing a fresh and dynamic way to engage with your followers.

Adding Music to Your Instagram Notes

Instagram now lets you incorporate a 30-second snippet of a song into your Instagram Notes. This feature is reminiscent of the old AIM away messages but with a modern twist. Along with the music, you can also include a caption to make your message clearer to your audience, whether they’re friends, family, or acquaintances. Mark Zuckerberg announced that you can pair up to 30 seconds of a track with your notes, alongside a written message or an emoji.

How to Include a Song in Instagram Notes

To embed a song into your Instagram Note, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to your Chats.
  2. Tap the “”plus”” icon next to your profile photo on the DM page.
  3. Choose the music note icon located below the text box.
  4. This action will take you to a page similar to the one used for adding music to an Instagram Story.
  5. Find your preferred song, select your 30-second segment, optionally add text or an emoji, and tap “”done”” in the upper right corner to post.

Translating Instagram Notes

Instagram now supports instant translations of Notes. By tapping on a note, the translation automatically appears, making it easier to communicate across different languages and enhancing engagement with a global audience.

Why Music and Translation Matter for Instagram

Since its launch in December 2022, Instagram Notes has received mixed reactions. However, teenagers have enthusiastically embraced this feature. Their active involvement highlights why Instagram is focused on enhancing Notes with musical and linguistic versatility. These features resonate with the expressive nature of teenage users, ultimately increasing engagement on the platform.
