EMI are releasing a new career-spanning compilation of tracks entitled Decades Apart on 22 February 2010.
In addition to a range of songs from the five decade back catalogue, the compilation will also include a brand new track recorded by the band at the tail end of 2009.
This new track will also be released as the band's first download only single around the same time. We will give you the track listing as soon as we have it and the album artwork will feature a shot from the same recent session that has been used on the UK tour promotion.
EMI also recently released a three CD set compiling all the tracks included in the pair of UA/EMI Singles box sets which were released around 2000. The release came with rather fetching artwork as shown and includes all A and B (or AA!) sides of the UA era singles plus additional edits and foreign releases.
Sony have been busy too. Following on from the Decade compilation released in the summer, The Original Album Classics series is five original albums reproduced as the vinyl original releases on CD and contained in a heavy duty slipcase.
This was released on 28 September.
The track listings on each album are per the original releases. It sounds very similar to the stunning Japanese promo-only EMI box set.
As a footnote, many fans are eager to know how work on the follow up to Suite XVI is progressing. The band are currently working on some new songs in their West country HQ and we hope to bring you some news of further developments soon.
